About the event
Approximately 50 minute lecture covering an overview of the primary focus of an ICU nurses responsibility. An in-depth review of Kirby’s rule of 20 and how each parameter can impact another, as well as why these parameters should be monitored in an ICU setting. Includes a review of normal vital signs, record keeping and the legal requirements of records.
Objectives:
1. Â Attendee will gain an understanding of the requirements of nursing care in an ICU setting.
2. Attendee will gain an understanding of Kirby’s rule of 20, how to assess each of these parameters, as well as be able to identify normal from abnormal.
3. Attendee will gain an understanding of how parameters can affect each other and the reasons to monitor trends in an ICU setting.
